Mastermind groups are a great way to be surrounded by people who want to better themselves and help you better yourself. Mastermind groups are different then mentors and coaches because they are more of a peer to peer group. Mastermind groups are groups of people who want to work on improving themselves and want and maybe need help in holding themselves accountable.
These groups are usually made up of three to ten people who come from all walks of life, different professions, different backgrounds, but share the goal of wanting to achieve a higher level of success then where they are right now. Some mastermind groups focus on professional goals, some on life goals. It depends on what you need to focus on in your life in order to achieve your definition of success.
Mastermind groups are also more than just groups that help hold you accountable to your goals but they also help you learn to be vulnerable. In order to reach your goals, you have to understand what is holding you back, you have to ask for help, you have to admit that you have struggles and that you may not know something. Being vulnerable is difficult because it is uncomfortable and most of us don’t life being uncomfortable. But the road to success is not easy, if it was, everyone would be successful. You have to learn to embrace or at least feel ok in being uncomfortable. Through this discomfort comes growth.
In Mastermind groups you are sharing with people who may share your struggles or have different struggles but the most important thing is knowing that you are not alone in struggling. Sometimes just knowing that you are not alone is enough to help you feel ok in discomfort. Mastermind groups are safe places to share who you are, where you are, where you want to go, what is getting in your way, and asking for help on how you can set goals to achieve what you want.
