Courage Equals No Regrets

The last couple of weeks I have talked about living the life you were meant to live, seeking out the positive in life, taking the hero’s journey and helping the hero on their journey.  All of these things have one thing in common, they take courage. Courage is believing in yourself. Courage is trying not knowing the outcome. Courage is facing failure and continuing forward. Courage is feeling the fear and doing it anyway.

Courage is something that is inside all of us, we just have to find it and push it to the surface. Courage is the fuel that changes “I can’t” to “I will”. Courage is the little voice inside your head that says “I can do this”. Courage is what pushes us to live the life we were meant to live with no regrets.

Hospice, the organization that cares for the dying, took a poll of the top five regrets people have when facing the end of their lives. Those top five regrets of the dying are as follows;

I wish I had the courage to live the life true to myself, not the life others expected of me I wish I hadn’t worked so hard I wish I had the courage to express my feelings I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends I wish I had let myself be happier

Please notice that two of the five regrets deal with courage. Don’t live a life of regret live a life that empowers you and others to do more and be more.  Please take this week to think about regrets you have had in your life so far. Use the feeling of regret to find the courage inside you to change your mindset so you can let go of regret, empower yourself to say yes when faced with a challenges and move yourself into a direction of living the life you want and deserve.
